Would you like to see your music in ELNA, or that of a friend or a composer you admire? We add more works to the database continuously, but you can be of great help in suggesting music!
To be featured in ELNA, a piece must meet the following critera:
The piece was written by a woman or non-binary composer who is based in or originates from the Nordic countries (Iceland, Faroe Islands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland).
The piece belong to the genre of Western art music. We are aware that genre definitions are sometimes vague and change over time, and our purpose is not to police what music belongs to what canon. Rather, this criterion is in place in order to make ELNA into a database usable by ensembles of classically trained musicians. If you're unsure about whether a piece fits into ELNA – contact us and we'll discuss it!
There is a publicly available recording and means of acquiring sheet music for the piece. Currently, ELNA exclusively features notated music, but we are looking to expand into fixed media works and composer-performer practices in the future.
To suggest works to be featured in ELNA, send an email to siri.landgren@kvast.org including the titles of the pieces and links to recordings and to where sheet music can be acquired. If you can also link to or supply us with biographical information and press photos of the composer (if they are not currently featured in ELNA), this will be a huge help to us.
Thank you for your interest in helping us build ELNA!
